Christian Education

Children & Youth

We welcome all families in all their various journeys and hope we can offer a space of faithful intergenerational community. We strive to include young people in the whole life of the church. During the academic year, we offer formation for pre-k to fifth grade children at 10 AM.

Children’s Sunday Sunday School is an interactive approach to explore faith through story using Montessori principles. The curriculum engages what is most exciting about religious education: God inviting us into—and pursuing us in the midst of—Scripture and spiritual experience. Using imagination and play we practice listening for God and to make authentic and creative responses to God’s call in our lives.

All school-age children who can follow instructions are welcome to help in the work of worship through, acolyting and reading the lessons. We encourage households to serve in Sunday leadership together! Youth are welcome to participate in music ministry as part of the choir as well.

Adult

The first active promise of baptism is to continue in the Apostle’s teaching. This acknowledges that our shaping (and re-shaping) as people of God is something we must intentionally attend to regularly and consistently. The faith of the disciples of Jesus isn’t like buying a ring you wear forever – it is more like a bicycle that needs care and maintenance to ride ever-changing paths. Adult Forum meets most Sundays at 9 AM. You do not need to come every Sunday to participate.

Adults seeking formal membership in the Episcopal Church should and ask about the Episcopal Handbook class, which is held when needed.
