We welcome visitors and newcomers to Christ Church!
You may wish just to come to church on Sunday and experience the people and the liturgy. Our newcomer greeters and clergy will welcome you after the service and invite you to the coffee hour afterwards. Recognizing that some prefer to leave quietly and think about their experience before meeting parishioners, they will honor your needs. Just let them know. If you would like to take some printed materials with you to learn more about the church, ask one of the greeters for a newcomer packet.
If you are coming with small children or infants you are welcome to bring them to our nursery. Ask one of the greeters for directions to the nursery.
If you are unfamiliar with the liturgy and would prefer someone to sit with you and “show you the ropes”, ask one of the greeters on your way into church or you phone the church office during the week and ask for the Rector; they will arrange for a parishioner to sit with you and show you how everything works.
You do not need to be an Episcopalian to join the parish. In fact most of the people who join Christ Church are from another denomination. Those who wish to join the parish are encouraged to participate in a series of six classes called “Inquirer’s Class”. These are held twice a year, in the Fall and in the Spring.
When you are ready to join Christ Church the first step to inform the Rector who will meet with you and give you necessary information about joining, including a parish directory and handbook. On various Sundays during the year new members are formally welcomed at the 10:00 a.m. service at announcement time.
