Her funeral service will be Thursday, January 5th at 11:00 a.m.

Memorials may be made to Christ Church.

We commend her soul to God’s care and safekeeping Rest in peace.

Evelyn’s absence at church saddened us all on New Years Day. We will miss her greatly at all the church functions she used to attend. May you rest in peace, Evelyn.

  2. Mary Lou Patton says:

Very sad news! She could light up a room just by walking through the door. Always full of warmth, true caring about others, and full of great stories and laughter! I will miss her so much!

  3. Kathy Okarski says:

It seems as though I have know Evelyn all my life. She was always full of laughter and smiles. I hope that I can live to be as vibrant as she was at 97. Our parish and community has lost a beautiful person. Rest in peace, Evelyn. You will be missed!

  4. Kay Twesen says:

My family and I have only been at Christ Church for 6 years, but the two people that made us feel sooooo welcome were Becky Rooks and Evelyn Tomlinson. I was amazed how very knowledgeable and informed Evelyn was and age had not taken any of her spark. She will be missed by many, but I’m sure she is in the special place in heaven reserved for Christ Church’s family. Rest in peace Evelyn.

  5. Judy Buck-Glenn says:

I can’t think of Evelyn without thinking of her smile–she was always smiling. She amazed me with her resiliancy–she was always upbeat and joyful. And downright–Evelyn told it like it was, but she was also terribly kind. I will miss her very much, but I am so glad that she was HERSELF–independent, self-reliant, still driving, with a brain as fine as ever–up to the last week of her life. She has just stepped out of this rooom and into the next, with no long decline. She would have wanted it this way. But it’s hard for those of us who truly loved her. She will be very much missed by so many in this parish.

  6. Evelyn was always smiling AND telling you what you should do. I will miss her when I look over at her pew. She greeted me every Sunday morning with a “Hi Bets!” and a wave. One memory that still makes me smile is when she told me I must call the water company and tell them they can’t dig up Nevin Street. She was a social butterfly right up until the end. Rest in peace dear lady.

  7. Gerry Martz says:

Evelyn was always full of life and ready to help anyone. I have wonderful memories of her and a picture on our bulletin board to prove how sweet she was. Not many people pass through your life and leave so many sweet memories. I know you have earned your wings.

  8. Mike Iannacci says:

The Iannacci family expresses our sincere thoughts and prayers to Evelyn’s family. She was a treasure to Christ Church. May choirs of angels lead her and eternal rest be granted to her and may the perpetual light shine upon her.

  9. It won’t seem like the same Christ Church without Mrs. Tomlinson there on Sundays. I have know her almost my whole life and I know her and my mom are up in heaven doing Second Hand Rose
