While a Saturday wind storm huffed and puffed, it couldn’t blow down Christ Church. It did, however, cause a huge piece of roof from some nearby property to sail hundreds of feet through the air and land on our slate roof, breaking numerous tiles. Thanks to our new Property chair, Bill Graham, and outgoing chairman Bill Nickerson, we were on it right away. The roofer is scheduled to come out first thing Monday to repair the damage.
We have no idea where the sheet metal roofing material came from. Thank goodness no one was hurt when it landed unceremoniously in the Memorial Garden.
