It all comes to life on December 24 as the young people of Christ Church recreate that first Christmas in Bethlehem long ago. Young shepherds and sheep, the angels and the three kings will all make their way up a candle-lit aisle to honor the Christ Child lying in a crib.
Our service begins at 5:00 p.m. Since it is usually quite full, you will want to plan on coming early to get a good seat.
The first half of the liturgy is the pageant with the congregation joining in singing carols. The second half of the service is a Christmas Eucharist.
Before and after the service there will be a living manger on the front lawn with animals. There will be live sheep, goats, a llama, as well as other critters supplied by the organization Peaceable Kingdom. Children are welcome to pet the animals with parents permission. There will be a great opportunity to snap a picture for next year’s Christmas card.
