With sadness we announce the death of Miriam (Mim) Smith on Saturday, January 8th, at Wallingford Nursing Home. Her memorial service will be Saturday, January 15th at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow in Musselman Hall.

Miriam B. Smith, 87 Loving Mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Miriam B. Smith, 87, died Saturday January 8, 2011 at Wallingford Nursing Home. Born in Darby, she was a longtime resident of Sharon Hill. Mrs. Smith was one of the original members of Sharon Hill Swim Club. She was also a member of Sharon Hill Leisure Hours Club, Collingdale High School Alumni Assoc. and Christ Episcopal Church, Ridley Park. When she was a child, she and her brother Lewellyn were the models for the 2 statues that stood outside the original Childrens Hospital at 8th & Bainbridge Sts., Philadelphia. When Childrens Hospical moved, the statues were placed at the new location. She was the wife of the late Charles R. Smith who died in 1984. Survivors: 2 sons Stephen Smith of Port Lavacat, TX and Charles R.
